358 Security Mesh Fencing is a robust system thanks to its strong wire and panel mesh configuration. It provides the ideal choice when a visually attractive, yet substantial fencing material is required. This ultimate welded wire mesh system offers one of the most effective means of providing a high degree of physical perimeter protection where a discreet visual impact on the immediate environment is essential.
'358' comes from its measurements 3" x 0.5" x 8 gauge that equal to approx. 76.2mm x 12.7mm x 4mm in metric.
Variety
A wide variety of fence heights are available and its pleasing aesthetic appearance ensures that 358 mesh fence is suitable for a wide range of applications.
The system's ability to provide a single panel up to 5.20m in height means that it is widely specified by prison and military establishments, and authorities wishing to protect assets which have a significant strategic importance.
It is also frequently specified at heights up to 3.60m for use in schools, parks, leisure and recreational areas as well as retail and commercial developments.

Construction
The panels are manufactured to form a mesh pattern of 76.2mm x 12.7mm using 4mm diameter vertical and horizontal wires which are resistance welded at each intersection. This method of construction produces a panel that is both formidable in strength and appearance.
A range of square hollow section posts are available to suit the specified fencing which is offered in the heights from 1.20m to 5.20m. The panels are attached to the post by means of a 75mm panel overlap and clamp bar arrangement which is securely fixed to the post by bolts and nuts. Factory fitted inserts together with stainless steel bolts are available as an option.
Security
358 mesh panels are extremely difficult to penetrate, with the small mesh aperture being effectively finger and foot proof, and extremely difficult to attack using conventional hand tools.
It is also very difficult and time consuming to attempt to pass items from the protected area through the fencing, and for this reason alone makes the protection of valuable wire and cable a viable proposition.
Resistance to burrowing and climbing
The bottom of the panel can be supplied extended 300mm in base for burying below the ground.
A concrete sill can also be specified to counter efforts to burrow beneath the fence line. Brackets to support barbed wire or tape provide additional protection to deter the most ambitious climber.
Finish
We usually use Zincalu Super coated wire to produce the welded mesh panels of 358 security mesh fencing. Please note that Zincalu Super has a combined zinc (95%) and aluminium (5%) content offering 2.5X the corrosion protection of an equivalent pure zinc coating and an enhanced lifespan. The posts and clamps are hot dip galvanized.
Panels are usually supplied with PVC or PE powder coated finish in RAL 6005 (green) or RAL 9005 (black) and other colors are available upon request. PE powder coating provides additional protection to the primary Zincalu Super layer and increases the potential lifespan.
